  1. Summer school will be offered at Tanner High School if sufficient numbers warrant this action; however, if not enough students apply, those students are free to attend summer school elsewhere.
  2. Classes will begin June 8, 2009, and end on July 3, 2009, for all components except ACCESS Distance Learning.  ACCESS courses must begin on June 1st and end on June 26th.  These dates have been set by the ACCESS Regional Coordinator.  The class day will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m.  There will be two 10-minute breaks (1 morning, 1 afternoon) with 30 minutes for lunch.  This allows for students who need the entire 140 clock hours to successfully complete a course.
  3. The Limestone County Summer School Program shall be limited to Limestone County students.
  4. Certified teachers will provide instruction and guidance to students as they complete credit recovery courses and middle school courses.  Technical Specialists will also be available to address computer/software issues.
  5. ACCESS Distance Learning classes will be available for students wishing to accelerate their courses of study.  Students taking an ACCESS course must successfully complete the entire 140 clock hours.
  6. Students taking an ACCESS course will have a Highly Qualified online teacher with an ACCESS facilitator on site to assist and supervise.
  7. Middle School students will complete their remedial academic work through both classroom instruction and instructional software when appropriate.  Students in grades 6-8 must attend all four weeks of summer school.
  8. A maximum of two courses can be attempted during summer school through Credit Recovery.  The courses must be completed one at a time.  ACCESS students and middle school students can only enroll in one course.  The maximum number of credits that a student in grades 9-12 can earn in one year is 10 credits, which includes courses taken during summer school.
  9. The following is the cost for summer school per student:                          $250 for credit recovery, ACCESS, and middle school                                $10 for a Skills Lab
  10. A full refund will be given if a student withdraws before the second day of summer school.
